ZEISS METROTOM 1500
Industrial CT for non-destructive inspection and measurement of large, complex parts and assemblies, revealing internal structures alongside external geometry in a single 3D scan.
See inside complex components without cutting them open.
The ZEISS METROTOM 1500 is an industrial CT solution for inspecting and measuring complex parts where important geometry may be hidden from conventional measurement methods.
Computed tomography reconstructs the component as a three-dimensional volumetric dataset, allowing internal and external characteristics to be evaluated within the same inspection workflow.
Some of the most important features are hidden inside the part.
Large and complex components can contain internal geometry that cannot be fully evaluated from the outside. CT provides a way to investigate these structures without dismantling or destroying the component.
Internal Features
Channels, cavities, bores and enclosed structures may have no practical access point for conventional tactile inspection.
Complex Assemblies
Dismantling an assembly can change component relationships or make it impossible to understand how parts interact in their assembled state.
Destructive Inspection
Sectioning a component can reveal internal structures, but destroys the original part and limits what can be investigated afterwards.
Inspect the geometry you cannot reach from the outside.
Large housings, castings, assemblies and complex industrial components can contain critical features that are difficult to access with conventional probes or optical systems.
Industrial CT creates a volumetric representation of the component, allowing engineers to investigate internal structures while preserving the original part.
- Large cast and machined components
- Complex housings and enclosures
- Multi-component assemblies
- Internal channels and cavities
- Difficult-to-access internal features
One volumetric scan can answer multiple inspection questions.
METROTOM 1500 supports inspection workflows where internal geometry, defects and dimensional characteristics need to be evaluated together.
Volumetric Inspection
Reconstruct the complete component volume to investigate internal and external geometry within a single dataset.
Dimensional Measurement
Evaluate dimensions and geometric characteristics, including features that are difficult to access using conventional measurement.
Defect Detection
Visualise internal voids, inclusions, porosity and other volumetric characteristics within manufactured components.
Wall Thickness
Investigate material thickness throughout internal structures and difficult-to-reach regions.
Assembly Inspection
Examine relationships between assembled components without requiring the complete assembly to be dismantled.
Non-Destructive Testing
Investigate internal structures while keeping the original component intact for further evaluation.
Industrial CT for complex components and assemblies.
The METROTOM 1500 can support inspection requirements across industries where component size, internal geometry or assembly complexity makes conventional inspection difficult.
Aerospace Components
Inspect complex aerospace components, castings and assemblies for internal geometry, cooling channels, wall thickness and manufacturing defects.
Castings & Housings
Investigate castings, housings and complex automotive components for porosity, internal channels and dimensional characteristics.
Electronic Assemblies
Examine internal connections, interfaces, housings and enclosed structures without dismantling the assembly.
Medical Components
Inspect internal structures and dimensional characteristics of complex medical components and assemblies without destructive sectioning.
From internal defects to dimensional relationships.
The value of CT is not limited to simply seeing inside a component. The resulting volumetric dataset can support different inspection and analysis requirements.
Measure what conventional surface inspection cannot reach.
Internal channels, cavities, interfaces and wall structures can be among the most difficult features to inspect. CT makes these structures visible within the reconstructed volume.
This is particularly useful when cutting, sectioning or dismantling the component would destroy the information needed for the inspection.
Internal Channels
Investigate enclosed channels and passages without physically opening the component.
Hidden Defects
Reveal internal voids, porosity and other volumetric characteristics.
Internal Dimensions
Evaluate dimensions and wall structures that conventional probes cannot easily access.
